# What happens when PIM Group is Activated

Compare eligible and active PIM group memberships with eligible and active roles, then review the role changes recorded when a group is activated.

## Where To Start?

1.  **Look at your current** **<u>PIM Role Groups</u>\*\*\*\*.**

Take note of what groups are currently active and which are you are eligible for in your [My PIM Role Groups page in Entra](https://entra.microsoft.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_PIMCommon/ActivationMenuBlade/~/aadgroup?).

- PIM **Eligible Groups** Assignment (List opens by default)
- PIM **Active Group** Assignments (Select the "Active assignments" tab to open list)

1.  **Look at your current** **<u>PIM Roles</u>**

- See what Roles are currently Active and the ones that you are eligible to activate. <https://entra.microsoft.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_PIMCommon/ActivationMenuBlade/~/aadmigratedroles>?
- PIM **Eligible Roles** (List opens by default)
- PIM **Active Roles** (Select the "Active assignments" tab to open list)

## What happens when you Activate a PIM Group?

- A selection of Roles are **Activated** AND/OR
- A selection of Roles become **Eligible to be Activated**
