## To install DeployR you will require

- Windows Server 2022 or higher server with Desktop Experience installed, running as a VM in HyperV recommended. The captured setup uses a standalone server.
- Dual CPU cores.
- 4GB memory minimum. The source recommends at least 8GB.
- Enough disk space to hold all content. This includes driver packs, windows installation .wim images, applications. The source recommends a second VM disk specifically for DeployR content. 100GB is a good starting point.
- Windows Deployment Services Server Role installed. Provides PXE boot services.
- The TwoPint.DeployRCommunity installer, which can be downloaded from [2Pint Software - Releases](https://releases.2pintsoftware.com/)
- A no-cost license (product key) can be obtained by registering via [2Pint Software - Deployr Community](https://2pintsoftware.com/products/deployr-community)
- An FQDN configured in internal DNS.

To install DeployR do the following.

- Download the installer from the link above. Right Click the downloaded zip file and select Properties\>General tab and remove the "mark of the web" (unblock).
- Extract the zip file.
- Run the TwoPint.DeployRCommunity.exe file elevated and follow the prompts. You will need to:
- Specify the product key you received via email after registration.
- The FQDN you have setup in your internal DNS
- Uncheck "Respond to PXE Requests". The 2PXE service is more complex than the captured local-imaging setup requires. Install the Windows Deployment Services server role after DeployR is installed to provide simple PXE booting.
- Choose a location for the DeployR content. By default all content is placed in the DeployR application install directory "C:\ProgramData\2Pint Software\DeployR". If you have installed a second drive in the server VM as recommended then change the path to something like "D:\2Pint Software\DeployR" This can be moved later via the Configure DeployR configuration editor if you choose the default now.
- Installation will also install
- .Net 10
- Powershell 7.6
- Assessment and Deployment Kit
- StifleR Server which provides infrastructure services to support the other products.
- StifleR Dashboard. The web-based portal for administering DeployR
- 2PXE booting functionality. This is installed even if you chose to not respond to PXE requests during installation.
- DeployR.
- Once installed successfully, click the Local Administration link
- Authenticate to the dashboard if prompted. The captured configuration uses the local Administrator account. Other user accounts can be setup later.
- Once logged on, click the DeployR node will show pre-created content, such as task sequences, step definitions, content items and boot image definitions.

DeployR is installed.
